02 Remnants Re-made

‘Remnants Re-Made’ is a collaboration between myself and dancer, choreographer, writer and artist Sarah Saxon.
The project looks at the vast amount of text and media accumulated by humans and relationship it has to the body; how does the body respond to and participate in this process? Through the accumulation, distillation and decay of movement, text, physical materials, and spoken word, this work explores how our past and present experiences with media transfer into the body, and how the body can, in turn, generate media.
The work uses a basis of choregraphic tools drawn from the relationship between speaking, writing, and dancing and the communication between these modes, as well as Memory and notation of past movement material, and remnants of remembered writing and speech.
︎ This work has been supported through residency periods by Readymade Works, March Dance Festival, Ausdance NSW and Lucy Guerin Inc.
︎Exerpts of material have been performed at Dance Makers Collective’s ‘One Night for Dance’ (March 2023) and Lucy Guerin Inc & Temperance Hall’s ‘Out of Bounds’ (August 2023).
