thing you crave but can’t reach. The texture you can’t feel. The food you can’t
eat. The joke you’re not let in on. The dance you don’t know.
What I have found most interesting about dance on film is the way the camera places a barrier between the viewer and the subject, that is different to the fourth wall used in live work. The camera acts as a frame that dictates in a more specific way what we see; how much of the world behind the lens are we allowed to see.
